# Release Runbook

## Pre-release

1. Confirm the working tree is clean.
2. Update the canonical version.
3. Update the changelog.
4. Run tests.
5. Run lint/type checks where configured.
6. Build artifacts if the project is packaged.
7. Validate the artifacts.
8. Review migration/schema changes.
9. Create the release tag.
10. Publish/deploy.
11. Run a production smoke test.

## Smoke test

Verify at minimum:

project access
issue creation
issue retrieval
issue update
authorization boundary
database connectivity
```
