## Browse the live OpenRouter catalog

For free models only:

## Compatibility rule

A model is considered compatible when its architecture metadata reports:

text input
text-only output
```

## Free-model rule

`--free-only` additionally requires:

```text
prompt price = 0
completion price = 0
```

## Selecting a model

Set the returned model ID as:

```bash
AI_PROVIDER=custom
AI_BASE_URL=https://openrouter.ai/api/v1
AI_API_KEY=<your-key>
AI_MODEL=<model-id>
```

Alternatively, `openrouter/free` can be used as an OpenRouter free-model router.

## Why the catalog is live

OpenRouter's `/models` response is the source of truth. gitaiflow intentionally avoids maintaining a hard-coded model list so newly added or removed models are reflected automatically.
